Well, it is that time of year again. The Winter Solstice is almost here! It is a time for reflecting on light.
I came up with this idea to make a winter fairy who would be a bringer of light. The photos don’t do this piece justice, it is soooo much cooler in person.
This is a Patricia Balloona original design. 🙂 I drew the eyes on paper and then cut the eyes out and taped it to the balloon as I was afraid to take the chance as I am a bit rusty on drawing faces on balloons, it has been a while.
A friend of mine introduced me to Fairy Lights and of course I had to implement it with my balloon work. I think I did something pretty innovative for wings. I put the fairy in fairy lights son!
Hope you like it and find this idea inspiring. I did a bit a mixed of media with feathers and lights and I really love how she came out! I also really love the way the flower came out. It is my take on an Iris flower.
I originally made the skirt one way and then went back and made it a little fuller. Not sure which I like better. Pics of both included. You be the decider. 🙂
I was on News Channel 3’s segment, 3 Plus You yesterday and here is a link to the appearance.
I decided to make another version of my Hummingbird and Flowers Bouquet/Centerpiece and played around with it some more since it was such a huge hit.
Jed Mescon who conducted the interview is a sweetheart as well as Ryan Henn who counsels me at the SBDC.
I feel so thankful and am so appreciative that there is free business counseling like the Small Business Development Center because they are so wonderful and the business world is so mysterious, strange and can be daunting. Look to see if you have one in your area and take advantage of the FREE services they offer! They are so helpful, informative, encouraging and empowering!
Picture of what I brought on the show below as well as pics of beautiful set. 🙂
I made this Hummingbird and Flowers gift bouquet for someone to brighten up their day. 🙂
I came up with this arrangement design. I like how I pushed myself and made a 6 petal flower on the top which was really really tricky using this petal style.
I love to surprise people I know or meet with balloon gifts and it really makes my day to see the balloons bring people cheer. It might sound corny and cliché but I really don’t care. People need to know that they matter and we all need color and cheer in our week. I don’t know what to say to people to help cheer them up but I don’t have to worry about that with balloons, they do my talking for me.
It made my day to see the smile it brought.
I altered a Tatyana DjeTa Lyashko baby on a flower design and made the flower bigger and taller, made the petals more like daisy petals and put a totally different baby to go on top. I figured since it was a giant flower that it would be apropos to make a baby in a bee costume sitting on top and it came out soooo cute. This stands at about 8 ft tall.
I just love to alter things and put my own twist on them.
Hope you like it and Happy Twisting!
My daughter has recently been diagnosed with autism and her teacher has been so wonderful with her and has accommodated her so lovingly and competently. She would make an awesome occupational therapist on top of teacher!
I made this as a thank you gift to her last week. It means the world to a parent to know that your kid will be treated and taken care of well at school.
The vase is a Michael Gjerek design and the Chrysanthemums I learned from ШАРОВЕДАВ on Youtube.

I made the flowers 2 toned rather than mono-tone with the darker being on the bottom and came up with the color scheme. The flowers are made with 160’s. The vase stands at about 4 ft. tall. You can really get an idea of its size with the teacher modeling with it below.
This was a labor of love. I think I am pretty good at making flower arrangements. I like how I arranged everything and I spent a good amount of time on how everything was situated.
I saw a Hydrangea Column made by Italian balloon artist Andre De Oliveira and I knew I had to replicate it and make it for my mother for Mother’s Day. He is amazing and so inspiring.
I had to use a different underlying structure than he did but the result I think came out the same. I made it for my mother who absolutely loves hydrangeas. My mother is battling fatal bone cancer and so this will sadly be my last Mother’s Day gift to her.
She just loved it!
It was a labor of love and Andre was touched and delighted with my replication. He is such a lovely person.
I love how this art is meaningfully connecting me to people from all around the world.
This came out to be about 7 ft tall.
So I learned how to make the hedgehog- at least I am guessing it is a Hedgehog via a guy whose name I have no idea what it is,lol. I am guessing it is Russian of sorts.
Link to it here, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QTbI8cDreQ.
I made some modifications to it, I tried out something new with eyes that I had seen on FB and tried figuring it out on my own. I also changed the colors of spiky things, lol.
Also, Irina Lobanova had a picture up where she replicated the look of a flower that is on a bubble balloon design. She used distortion to achieve the same look as the print.
I decided to play around and see if I couldn’t figure it out and replicate it on my own.
I am very pleased with the result. I think I am pretty good about making an arrangement and scene.
Here is what I came up with in combining all these elements and things I have seen together and making a color scheme in what I feel is a stunning arrangement. 🙂
