I made this as a gift for one of my daughter’s teachers. Just something to say thank you for being so good to my kid. I know she is really into Minnie so that is what I made her. She loved it! Yay!
A friend of mine loves skiing more than anything and he inspired me to make a skiing themed piece.
I decided to tweak a Dylan Gelinas, Patches the Bunny, design which is geared towards Easter and made it bigger and altered it in a few other ways.
I also made it some ski equipment and put it on a simple bouquet to make it look like it was in action on snow.
Hope you think it’s “cool” man.
I gave it to a lady today in hopes it would cheer her day up. I like randomly giving bouquets away. It makes me happy. I like to give things to people who aren’t expecting it.
I came up with and made this Seal and Penguin bouquet yesterday. The penguin is modeled after a Tatyana DjeTa Lyashko penguin design, though I altered it.
The flower is not my design. I learned how to make it via YouTube https://www.youtube.com/user/MrFingersman.
The overall design is mine as well as the seal.
I am going to just give it away to someone today and am trying to figure out how to go about it.
Hope you like it, it is over 3 ft tall!
A couple who are both friends of mine have a mug with two brown love owls sitting on a perch together.
I couldn’t help but be inspired and I have been wanting to make them something for several months now and when I saw the mug, that was it- I knew right then that that would be the perfect balloon gift piece.
I decided to spruce up the color scheme instead of everything being blush, brown and red like on the mug.
I came up with this as a result. I made my patented ribbon stuffed balloons, my personal innovation as far as I know, for the base and decided on this color scheme of rose, hot pink, Caribbean blue, white, mocha brown, goldenrod and lime green which really pops. 🙂
I wanted the chest on the owls to really stand out and look feathery so I made some loop weaves and I really like how everything came out. It stands at 4 ft. tall. For some reason I really like making things that are 4 ft. tall, lol. I think one of my personal balloon strengths are bouquets so I will continue
Hope you like it and Happy Twisting!
I have a friend whose birthday was in Feb but sadly I was in an art lull. I have felt so bad that I didn’t make her a balloon gift for her birthday.
Her birth stone is amethyst and so I decided to do something purple focused.
I came up with this flower bouquet as a result.
I came up with the idea of putting ribbon inside the base balloons and it produces a super lovely effect.
The flower I was inspired by Romina Finali and pictures of flowers on a column I had seen of hers and the butterfly I was inspired by a picture of a butterfly I had seen by Irina Lobanova.
I came up with this piece as a result and put my own twist and sensibilities to it.
I decided not to use any green and just have purple for the leaves and I like how I did the leaves and I just love the colors together. It is 4 ft. tall.
I put the rule of thumb of darkest colors on bottom in a piece on trial here and I like it! I also used beads for the center of the flower and am getting more mixed media in my approach. .
It’s all Mavericky!
My friend just loved it and I was so happy to see her reaction and it made it all worth it. I really love making things for people who don’t expect it. It deflates the excitement for me if someone is expecting it. Surprising someone with balloon art made from the heart, nothing feels better. 🙂
Warm Fuzzies to all of you and Happy Twisting!
Don’t even ask me how I managed to make this because it is all a blur and it was serendipity, lol.
I was actually trying to making something completely different but this just emerged.
This is a Patricia Balloona original design.
This is my first attempt at a star weave and it ended up cone shaped completely by accident. I don’t know that I could ever do that again on purpose, lol.
I wasn’t sure what to do with the coned star weave but then it just hit me, this would make a nice fish.
I don’t know if I am the first to double stuff balloons with ribbons inside but I got inspired to do that and it was original to me.
I decided to use a jewel I had found around the house for the eye and it really adds great drama. My fish head is quite different as well and it was a flash of insight at the last minute.
Everything just started to come together in my head in a rush. This was a very go with the flow project for me and this piece just wanted to emerge.
I absolutely love my fish and I love how everything came together and I am in shock. It really felt like an out of body experience and the whole process was so creatively magical.
This piece stands at about 4 ft. tall if not more. My lovely daughter modeling with it below.
Hope you like it and find some inspiration and Happy Twisting!
Picture below was without finished touches. I added a few more spiky things on the top and the bottom and I feel that really finished the piece. My adorable daughter modeling with it below.
I started feeling well enough and back to my old self enough again to dive back into creating balloon art.
There is a lady we go to to help us with our tax prep and we just really like her. She actually makes the daunting task fun and enjoyable because you get to see her and she will make you laugh and feel so at ease.
I surprised her with my original Dalmation bouquet last year and she was so appreciative, she had tears in her eyes and hugged me probably 50 times.
I made another original bouquet, this is a Patricia Balloona original design of a girl reading a book while taking shelter among the flowers and in nature. It is reflective of what I have been doing as of late.
I am reading 4 different books at once currently, lol. I have also been getting outside more and have been soaking up nature.
I remembered the colors the lady wore when we got our taxes done and used them in the bouquet.
I really love how I made the book and glasses and I like how I have her looking regal and like the bouquet is like a throne. I love how the leaves almost look like wings behind her. I also really like how I have done the chest area. It is something I have done before with a fairy bouquet but I got the proportions better and have it much cleaner. I also like how her skirt is done and how it is sitting. Her feet are tucked inside the grass as it were. I am really proud and pleased with this piece. 🙂
I love how everything came together and I was able to manifest what was in my head, which is one of the most gratifying feelings, when you can imagine something and make it come alive.
She just loved it and again hugged me 50 times and is so beautifully appreciative. I wanted to bring it to her on a Monday as that way she could enjoy it where she works all week and Mondays suck man so hopefully this would help her week get off to a nice start.
I really love surprising people with bouquets. I like that they are not expecting it. That makes it really fun for me. It feels good. People who are lovely need to know that that loveliness matters. She brightens other people’s day and that means something and is recognized and is meaningful.
