So over this weekend I designed this dress and gave it to a friend of mine, Sondra, who owns a clothing store called Collective Clothing.
It is in her window display right now.
This was a labor of love. We were able to procure the lovely Angel to model the dress as I really wanted to see if I could make a real deal wearable balloon dress and see how it performs.
When I made a flowery looking skirt in previous post to this, I thought to myself that it looked an awful lot like a flower. That got me thinking, huh, wouldn’t it be cool to make a dress that looks like a flower like this only a full dress and have a butterfly on the back to look like a butterfly landed on it? I came up with the design for this dress in my head and was lucky enough to make it realized!
So that was the idea and this is what I came up with. The belt design was totally an accident and is really cool. I was just trying different things out and came up with it.
We went around town and found some really cool locals and these were the photos that I took. Angel did a great job posing and modeling and was a delight.
Sondra loved it and put it on a mannequin in her window display at her store.
I am happy to report that there were no poppings at all! It was an awesome day!
Angel said the dress was comfortable and it was soooo amazing to see it is action. It fit her perfectly. This is a Patricia Balloona original design.
Here are some pics of Angel modeling it below.
