126th and 127th Balloon Sculptures, Bubble Heart, Mega Heart

Yonaimy and Megalex Zaragoza, on YouTube, both have awesome hearts. They speak Spanish, but even if you don’t speak the language they are such good instructors that you can still follow.

I tell you what, I have got to practice Yonaimy’s design over and over and over. Designs with small bubbles are hard for me, lol. Sure, I can make a Dalek costume all by myself but a bubble heart balloon- I totally struggle to make a perfect proper one, lol. I found this to be really challenging but so much fun. Just 2 balloons for her design.

Now Megalex’s design is really exciting to make. I just went with pink and red with white balloons for inside. Both instructors are teaching totally different techniques that I have not before seen so I found that very exciting.

It felt like I was seeing or getting a sense of more of a mathematical and engineering approach to balloon sculpting.

Man, Megalex is a total genius. I am no where near understanding how he came to design this. This is major impressive! He is so likable too, just like Yonaimy. You just want to give them a big hug when you see them!

Here are the links to Megalex’s design.
I think his design takes 13 balloons, including 3 round balloons that you put inside for puffing it out.

125th Balloon Sculpture, Motor Bike and Motor Bike and Rider Combo’s

Well first of all, Yonaimy has an interesting motor bike design. I tried it out and thought that the proportions worked well for a Pink Panther parody to sit on,lol.

I also decided to whip up a Holly Hopper Motorcycle and make a Bat Dude to ride on it,lol.

Yonaimy’s tutorial I thought was pretty good as always. I strayed a little from how she did it. I found rolling the wheels up on the leg helps a lot, not in between but directly on the leg while sitting down. I also didn’t make a sausage twist for the beginning of the wheel. I added a light of course, lol. You can see Holly Hopper’s influence on my replication of Yonaimy’s design.

Here is the a link to the Yonaimy design and tutorial=

Again, Holly Hopper’s link for her motorcycle=

Bat Dude=

Pink Panther Parody =

I should have made the wheels rounder for the Holly Hopper design, I went too fast, lol. Silver part is too big, lol. I also need to make handle bars shorter for the Bat Dude. My Pink Panther Parody felt off, ah yea, now I know- the eyes are too big and the drawn on eyes are not big enough! Need to practice making those again, it has been a while, lol. Hmm, maybe I will try twisting the Panther fett together under the motor bike or tuck them into the red part meeting the wheel?

Just tuck Bat Dude’s butt-cheeks in seat and take the ends of bars and twist them into the fists and he is good to go!

Anyway, here are pics of my replicas and adding riders to fit on them, lol.

It is possible to put a Pink Panther Parody on the Holly Hopper motorcycle, lol. It’s just Yonaimy’s proportions work better, lol.

124th Balloon Sculpture, Poodles Kissing In Heart

I actually made this a couple days ago but with the whole costume making project I got distracted from posting it,lol. This is just disgustingly cute to me,lol. I love it. Yonaimy has a gerat tutorial video for how to make one. She has great designs especially for things that you would see accompanying a bouquet of flowers. Just 4 balloons and you can make someone’s heart melt and head explode! This design is super easy and fast. πŸ™‚

Here are pics of my replication. I decided to make mine black and white rather than pink and blue. I want to play around more with the marker decorating.

New Blog Balloon Index with Pics!

I went back and made an index of all my balloon posts with pics to makeΒ it easier and faster to get to previous posts.

It is a new page that should be next to the home page. I have replaced the Picture Collage of What I Can Make page with it.

Hopefully this will be helpful and make for more convenience.

123rd Balloon Sculpture, Balloon Dalek Costume!

So some friends of mine named Jessi and Patrick are huge supporters of me and are great friends and they came to me with the challenge and request of making a Balloon Dalek Parody costume for Patrick for the upcoming Conooga, a Sci-Fi-Fantasy convention here in Chattanooga. It is in March.

A Dalek is a character from the show Dr. Who.

I could not believe they asked me to do this, lololololol.

I have never made a costume before and this is a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!

I was given a picture and was told which colors were desired and so since the balloons came in recently, today I took on the task. I was also told that he wanted to be able to kneel in it and wanted it to completely encompass him 360. Reference Pic below, plunger from older versions was also requested.

(Today is the 4 month anniversary of when I began balloon sculpting. I started Sept 27th 2012 with the dog. Cool that this would be the day I would make my first costume, lol. Sweet!)

Can you say terrified and excited?!?!

No one else has a Dalek Balloon Costume that I know of, there certainly isn’t a tutorial for it and the only videos are of guys making a really simple small one like 1 ft. Tall! I have just seen small ones but not costumes. The small ones are actually pretty cute and would be great for party favors.

I had to figure this out on my own! Again, terrifying and exciting!

I figured I should start with the center and work from there. I decided to basically make a birthday cake design for the center where the person’s eyes go. I guess that may be more of the top, lol. I figured if I could get the head piece right, everything else would flow from there.

I even figured out how to put a light inside the eye!

I know that I don’t have balls all around and that is because this is a prototype.

How I made this I don’t even know really, it just flowed and I was in the zone. I was not expecting to make it in one day, lololololol.

I felt like I was on an episode of the Unpoppables!

I used 160’s, 260’s, 350’s, 646’s and 5 in Rounds. I will check with Patrick to see if he wants black trim on the bottom or if he prefers the purple on bottom trim. I will also make the horns shorter and perhaps make them black, will also check with Patrick about that, color of the horn things, lol. I will also make the the part where the glowing eye goes inside black instead of grey. I am going to see about making the top a little shorter to get more of an oval look. I need to make the layers shorter faster, I think if it has one less level it will be better.

This took me 8 hours to make but next time it should be much faster because I won’t have to problem solve and experiment.

I recorded my hubby modeling it and demonstrating that kneeling was possible.

So here is the video and pics!

Jessi, Patrick, thank you guys for believing in me and for being such wonderful supports and friends! Now I have another cool show to get into- I am starting with series 9. Great show!

I am just as surprised as everyone else, lol.

FYI, I love feedback so if you have any advice or like this piece, feel free to comment! πŸ™‚

Her Love Will Change Him,lol.

122nd Balloon Sculpture, Playable Balloon Bass

This is really something. Addi Somekh, not only is he completely amazing as far as balloon twisting ability, he plays and I mean really plays a balloon bass and I believe is in a band, lol. He was on the BBC demonstrating it.

This is a tricky thing to make let me tell ya.

Link to how to make one=

I think I didn’t blow mine up enough but it still seemed to work well.

I have no idea how to play bass so I was just attempting to do a little Another One Bites The Dust by Queen, and the only way I had any idea of even attempting to do that was by watching Addi in his tutorial! Lololololol!

I will need to learn how to seriously play this, lol.

My House, Tis A Silly Place

This is to give you an idea of what I and the milieu of my home is like.

I was walking around the grocery store the other day and I kept getting weird looks from people. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why, I thought perhaps my Care Bear hat was the culprit but I have found people smile when they see my hat and don’t look at me like such a freak.

After the 10nth weird look I realized that I was meowing one of the Kirby video game songs, specifically the Gourmet Race song. Yes, I do not hum music, I meow instead.

I really had no idea I was even doing it because it is such a habit! Lololololol. You should try it, it immediately makes songs much more fun to sing. There should be a Meow Hero instead of Guitar Hero!

I come home and share my little encounter with the real world vs my head and my wonderful husband is sooo supportive and rather than see me as strange, he joins me in meowing merriment.

We love the Gummi Bears cartoon show and starting meowing the theme song for it. Then I asked if I could record us doing so, so I could have it to watch whenever feeling down and out.

I cherish these moments and just love that we have such a silly light hearted over active sense of humor having household.

Tis a silly place, our home. πŸ™‚ I love it!

So here is my hubby and I meowing the Gummi Bear theme song, lol.
